Your business card is often the first physical contact someone has with your brand, and it should feel like it. Printed on substantial 14pt cardstock in the standard 3.5" x 2" format, our business cards are available in matte, gloss, scuff-free matte, and soft-touch finishes, so the card in your pocket matches the image you want to project. Crisp full-colour printing on one or both sides keeps logos sharp and text perfectly legible.
First Press prints cards for Montreal entrepreneurs, sales teams, agencies, and corporations ordering for entire departments. Cards are produced in increments of 250, making it easy to outfit one person or a whole office with consistent, professional cards.
Beyond the classic networking handshake, our customers use business cards as appointment reminder cards for clinics and salons, loyalty punch cards for cafes, mini gift cards and discount cards for boutiques, package inserts for e-commerce orders, table-talker contact cards for trade shows, referral cards for real estate and home services, and care instruction cards for handmade products. A well-made card earns a spot in the wallet instead of the bin.
Choose your finish based on how the card will be used. Gloss makes colours and photos vivid, ideal for image-heavy designs. Matte and scuff-free matte are easier to read, hide fingerprints, and resist the scratches that show on dark gloss cards. Soft touch adds a velvety feel that people notice immediately, a worthwhile upgrade when first impressions carry real weight. If you plan to write on your cards, for example to note an appointment time, keep at least the back uncoated or matte, since pens skip on UV and heavily coated surfaces.
Rounded corners give a card a friendly, modern profile and resist corner wear; we provide a dedicated rounded-corner template to set up your file correctly. Build your artwork at 3.5" x 2" with 0.125" bleed on all sides, CMYK colour, 300 dpi, and keep text 0.125" inside the trim line. Avoid thin borders right at the edge, as tiny trim shifts can make them look uneven.
Since cards come in increments of 250, think about how quickly your team actually hands them out. Doubling a quantity usually costs far less than double, so ordering ahead for a busy trade show season is smart spending. Orders over $200 ship free by ground.
Standard matte offers a smooth, glare-free surface. Scuff-free matte adds a protective layer that resists the scratches and shiny rub marks that can appear on dark designs, keeping cards looking new far longer.
Yes. Many businesses order cards for several employees at once. Contact us for a quote on multi-name orders and we will organize the files and quantities for you.
Screens display RGB while presses print CMYK. For deep, even black coverage, use a rich black build rather than 100 percent K alone, and always design in CMYK at 300 dpi.
Always supply a print-ready PDF with at least 1/8 inch (0.125 in) of bleed on every side and crop marks included, built in CMYK. Keep important text and logos at least 1/8 inch inside the trim line so nothing is cut off. If you are not sure how to export it that way, our file preparation guide walks through the exact settings for Canva, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Word. Prefer to design it yourself? Use the personalization option in the upload section to build your artwork right on the page before you order.
Printing both sides? Upload a single PDF with two pages, page one for the front and page two for the back, both the same size with 1/8 inch bleed and crop marks, rather than two separate files. You can merge two pages into one PDF for free with Adobe Acrobat online.
