Our display boards are printed on thick, recyclable cardstock poster material that combines the look of a premium poster with enough stiffness to stand on an easel or sit in a window without flopping. The smooth coated surface reproduces photography and brand colours with exceptional vibrancy, and because the substrate is paper-based, it is one of the most sustainable rigid display options First Press offers.
Display boards are the natural choice when you need impact for a day, a weekend, or a season, at a price point that lets you print generously. They are light, easy to transport, and simple to recycle when the promotion ends.
Think of anywhere a poster needs a backbone: in-store promotions and new arrival announcements, window displays, event and conference signage, school and science fair presentations, easel-mounted welcome boards at weddings and galas, giant presentation cheques for fundraisers, retail counter cards, photo and prop boards for social media moments, and short-run campaign signage.
Choose display board when the sign lives indoors or in a protected window and the display period is measured in weeks or months. If the board will face moisture, sun, or rough handling for longer, step up to styrene or Sintra. For easel display, sizes around 24x36 in offer great presence while staying stable; very large boards may need a backing support.
Single sided printing covers most uses, but double sided is worth it for window displays read from both the street and the store. If your design uses deep solid colours, a laminated finish adds scratch resistance and richness, with matte reducing glare under spotlights.
Set up artwork in CMYK at final size with 0.125 in of bleed, keeping critical text at least half an inch from the trim. A resolution of 100 to 150 dpi at full size prints beautifully at poster scale. Cardstock boards are economical in multiples, so print every location at once, and remember ground shipping is free on orders over $200 from our Montreal shop.
The cardstock is stiff enough for easels, frames, and window ledges, but it is not freestanding. Pair it with an easel back or stand if you need it upright on a table or floor.
Yes. The board is a paper-based cardstock, so it can go in regular paper recycling once your promotion wraps up.
Only briefly and in dry conditions. Cardstock absorbs moisture, so for outdoor signage choose coroplast or Sintra instead.
Display board is thinner, lighter, and recyclable, ideal for one campaign. Foamboard adds true rigidity for boards that travel between events, while Sintra is the pick for anything long-term or outdoors.
Always supply a print-ready PDF with at least 1/8 inch (0.125 in) of bleed on every side and crop marks included, built in CMYK. Keep important text and logos at least 1/8 inch inside the trim line so nothing is cut off. If you are not sure how to export it that way, our file preparation guide walks through the exact settings for Canva, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Word. Prefer to design it yourself? Use the personalization option in the upload section to build your artwork right on the page before you order.
Printing both sides? Upload a single PDF with two pages, page one for the front and page two for the back, both the same size with 1/8 inch bleed and crop marks, rather than two separate files. You can merge two pages into one PDF for free with Adobe Acrobat online.
