About our feather flags
Feather flags, also known as oriflammes, are tall fabric flags that ripple with the slightest breeze and pull eyes toward your location from across a street or parking lot. Each flag is printed by dye-sublimation on premium polyester fabric, which infuses the ink directly into the fibres for vibrant, fade-resistant colour and a soft, professional drape. The flag mounts on a lightweight yet durable aluminum pole system that flexes in the wind without breaking, and every kit from First Press includes a convenient carry bag.
Choose from windsail, drop, and square flag types, with concave, convex, straight, or angled edge shapes, in heights from 6 feet to over 15 feet. Printing is available single-sided, where the image shows through in mirror on the back, or double-sided with a blockout layer for full readability from both directions.

Tips for choosing your options
Pick the height for your sight lines. A 6 to 8 foot flag works well beside a door or booth, while 12 to 15 foot flags rise above parked cars and crowds to mark a location from a distance. If your message must read correctly from both directions of foot or road traffic, choose double-sided printing; if the flag will mostly be seen from one side, single-sided keeps the cost down.
Match the base to the ground. The ground stake is perfect for grass and soil, the cross base with a weighted bag suits pavement and indoor floors, the square base offers a compact footprint, and the car base wedges under a vehicle tire for parking lot displays. Whatever the base, plan for wind: weighted bags add valuable stability on exposed sites.
Design with the shape in mind. Run your text vertically along the pole edge, keep the most important words in the upper two thirds, and use bold contrast, since the fabric is always gently moving. Prepare files in CMYK at final size with bleed, around 150 dpi. Flag kits usually exceed $200, so most orders ship free by ground.

Do feather flags need wind to look good?
No. The curved pole keeps the fabric extended even in still air, so your message stays readable. A breeze simply adds motion that attracts even more attention.
Can I leave my flag outside permanently?
Flags are built for outdoor use, but taking them down in storms and overnight greatly extends the life of both fabric and hardware. The included carry bag makes daily setup quick.
What is the difference between single-sided and double-sided printing?
Single-sided prints show a mirrored image on the reverse. Double-sided flags use two printed layers with a blockout liner, so the design reads perfectly from both sides.
How should I set up and upload my artwork?
Always supply a print-ready PDF with at least 1/8 inch (0.125 in) of bleed on every side and crop marks included, built in CMYK. Keep important text and logos at least 1/8 inch inside the trim line so nothing is cut off.
