Our 5x7 folded greeting cards are printed on premium papers chosen for how they feel in the hand, because a card is one of the few printed pieces people actually keep. Choose from multiple finishes, from smooth matte that takes handwriting beautifully to gloss that makes photographs glow, and pair your cards with matching envelopes so they arrive ready to sign, seal, and send.
Cards are scored before folding, so the spine stays crisp with no cracking along the fold even on heavier stocks. Whether you need 25 cards for a boutique thank you campaign or several thousand for a corporate holiday mailing, First Press prints them in our Montreal shop and ships across Canada, with free ground shipping on orders over $200.
The classics never go out of style: corporate holiday cards signed by the whole team, client thank you notes that build loyalty better than any email, photo cards for families and photographers, birth and wedding announcements, event invitations, fundraising appeals from nonprofits, and retail gift cards with a personal touch. Realtors and financial advisors in particular use a steady cadence of greeting cards to stay memorable between transactions.
Match the finish to the message. Matte and uncoated stocks are ideal when recipients will write inside, since most pens smear on gloss. Reserve glossy or soft-touch finishes for photo-forward designs where the cover image is the star.
Plan the inside early. A short printed message with room left for a handwritten line typically gets the warmest response; fully blank interiors work when different team members will personalize each card.
Set up your file as a flat 10x7 in spread (or two 5x7 pages) in CMYK at 300 dpi with 0.125 in bleed, and keep text at least 0.25 in from the fold and trim. If you are mailing in Canada, confirm your envelope size meets standard letter dimensions to avoid surcharges.
Envelopes are available as an option with every card order. Most customers add them so the set arrives ready to mail; just select the option when ordering and we will match the quantity to your cards.
Yes. You can print the inside in full color, add a simple one color message, or leave it blank for handwriting. Many corporate customers print a formal greeting inside and leave space below for signatures.
Choose folded greeting cards when the message is personal: holidays, thank yous, invitations, anything you want opened like a gift. Choose postcards when speed and cost matter more than ceremony, such as promotional mailings, since they skip the envelope and print faster to address.
We recommend finalizing artwork by early November for December delivery. That leaves comfortable time for proofing, printing, signing by your team, and Canada Post's busiest mailing season.
Always supply a print-ready PDF with at least 1/8 inch (0.125 in) of bleed on every side and crop marks included, built in CMYK. Keep important text and logos at least 1/8 inch inside the trim line so nothing is cut off. If you are not sure how to export it that way, our file preparation guide walks through the exact settings for Canva, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Word. Prefer to design it yourself? Use the personalization option in the upload section to build your artwork right on the page before you order.
