Letterhead is the quiet workhorse of business stationery. Whether you are sending formal documents, invoices, contracts, or professional letters, a printed letterhead signals that your organization takes its correspondence seriously. Our letterheads are printed on smooth 8.5" x 11" text-weight stock, typically a quality 70lb offset, chosen specifically so the sheet feels substantial in hand while running flawlessly through office laser and inkjet printers.
First Press prints letterhead for Montreal law firms, accounting practices, medical clinics, government suppliers, and growing businesses that want every page leaving the office to carry consistent, professional branding. Crisp text, accurate brand colours, and reliable sheet-to-sheet consistency come standard.
Printed letterhead anchors client correspondence and engagement letters, invoices and statements, legal notices and contracts, official certificates and confirmations, grant applications and government submissions, press releases, internal memos for organizations that value formality, and the welcome letters in client onboarding kits. Many customers pair letterhead with matching printed envelopes for a complete, coordinated stationery system.
The most important rule for letterhead is to stay uncoated. Coated or UV-finished sheets can cause toner adhesion problems in laser printers and smudging with inkjet, and they resist handwritten signatures in ink. A smooth uncoated offset stock gives you sharp printed branding plus a surface your office equipment and your fountain pen will both love. If you want a more luxurious feel for executive correspondence, ask us about heavier text weights through a custom quote.
Design your letterhead to frame, not fill, the page. Keep your logo, address block, and any footer elements out of the central writing area, and remember that most office printers cannot print to the very edge, so leave content margins generous. If your design includes elements that bleed off the edge, we print them properly on press with 0.125" bleed, something a desktop printer cannot do. Supply files in CMYK at 300 dpi using our downloadable template, and convert fonts to outlines or embed them in your PDF.
Letterhead is consumed steadily, and unit prices fall significantly at higher quantities, so ordering six months to a year of supply at once is usually the economical move. Orders over $200 qualify for free ground shipping.
Yes. Our letterhead stock is selected to feed reliably through standard laser and inkjet printers, so you can merge letters, invoices, and documents directly onto the printed sheets.
Ideally, yes. A coordinated stationery suite reinforces your brand at every touchpoint. We can print letterhead, envelopes, and business cards together so colours stay consistent across the set.
Yes. Many clients order a simplified second-sheet design or print terms and conditions on the back of invoice letterhead. Just include both layouts when you submit your files.
Always supply a print-ready PDF with at least 1/8 inch (0.125 in) of bleed on every side and crop marks included, built in CMYK. Keep important text and logos at least 1/8 inch inside the trim line so nothing is cut off. If you are not sure how to export it that way, our file preparation guide walks through the exact settings for Canva, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Word. Prefer to design it yourself? Use the personalization option in the upload section to build your artwork right on the page before you order.
