A tension fabric backdrop is a full-wall display that assembles in minutes and photographs beautifully. The system pairs a lightweight aluminum tube frame with a stretch fabric graphic printed by dye-sublimation. The pillowcase-style cover slips over the assembled frame and zips closed at the bottom, pulling the fabric drum-tight for a smooth, wrinkle-free, seamless face with no visible hardware. A carry bag is included, so the whole wall packs down into something one person can transport.
First Press offers widths from 2 feet up to 20 feet, all 90 inches tall, with single-sided or double-sided full-colour printing. It is the modern replacement for bulky panel walls: exhibitors, marketers, and event teams get a premium media wall that sets up fast and stores small.
Tension fabric walls anchor trade show booths, serve as step-and-repeat photo walls at galas and premieres, back press conferences and media scrums, frame conference stages and panel discussions, brand retail promotions and product launches, create video and livestream backgrounds, and divide or dress open spaces at corporate events.
Size the wall to the venue. An 8 foot backdrop fills the back of a standard 10 foot booth with room for a table, a 10 foot wall gives full edge-to-edge coverage, and the 15 to 20 foot formats suit stages and large event spaces. For a photo wall, plan roughly one metre of width per person you want in frame. All sizes stand 90 inches tall, comfortably above head height in photographs.
Single-sided printing is right for walls placed against a booth back or venue wall. Choose double-sided when the display floats in open space, such as a room divider or an aisle-facing wall, so both approaches show finished graphics rather than the back of the fabric.
Prepare artwork at full size in CMYK with bleed, around 150 dpi at final dimensions. Keep logos and text out of the outer few inches, where the fabric wraps the frame, and remember that step-and-repeat logo grids photograph best with logos sized 8 to 12 inches and spaced evenly. At these sizes, your order qualifies for free ground shipping over $200, and as a Montreal-based shop we are easy to reach if you prefer to coordinate locally.
Most customers assemble the frame, slip on the cover, and zip it closed in 10 to 15 minutes, with no tools. The tube sections are numbered or shock-corded for foolproof assembly.
Yes. Dye-sublimated polyester can be machine washed cold on a gentle cycle and hung to dry, which removes travel creases and keeps the wall looking new event after event.
Absolutely. The frame is reusable, so you can order a new pillowcase cover for your next campaign and keep using the same hardware.
Always supply a print-ready PDF with at least 1/8 inch (0.125 in) of bleed on every side and crop marks included, built in CMYK. Keep important text and logos at least 1/8 inch inside the trim line so nothing is cut off. If you are not sure how to export it that way, our file preparation guide walks through the exact settings for Canva, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Word. Prefer to design it yourself? Use the personalization option in the upload section to build your artwork right on the page before you order.
