A business card is usually the first printed thing a client holds from your company, and the finish does most of the talking. We print cards in Montreal on our own equipment, which means finish, stock and turnaround are controlled in-house rather than jobbed out.
There is no large minimum, so a run for one new hire makes sense, and so does a company-wide reorder.
This is the decision that changes how the card feels in someone's hand.
| Finish | Feel | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Matte | Smooth, non-reflective, writable | Professional services, cards people note on |
| Gloss | Shiny, vibrant color | Photography-heavy and bold designs |
| Soft touch | Velvety, premium | First impressions that need to feel expensive |
Rule of thumb. If people will write on the card, choose matte. If the design leans on photography or saturated color, gloss earns its keep. If the card is the pitch, soft touch is the one people comment on.
Rounded corners and other custom shapes are available on top of any finish.
Keep text and logos at least 0.125 in inside the trim so nothing sits against the edge. If your file is not print-ready, our in-house design services can fix or rebuild it.
Most small jobs run 2 to 7 business days depending on the production speed selected, with rush service available. Production starts once you approve the online proof we provide on every order.
Cards land better when the rest of the paper matches. We print letterhead, envelopes, notepads and pocket folders on coordinated stocks, so the whole identity arrives as one system rather than a mismatched pile.
We ship throughout Canada and the United States, with local Montreal pickup and delivery available.
What is the difference between matte, gloss and soft-touch business cards? Matte is non-reflective and easy to write on, gloss is shiny and makes colors vibrant, and soft-touch has a velvety, premium feel that people notice the moment they hold the card.
Can I get rounded corners? Yes. Rounded corner business cards and other custom shapes and finishes are available.
Is there a minimum quantity? There is no large minimum on most products. Order a short run for a single hire or a volume run for the whole company.
How fast can you print business cards? Most small jobs run 2 to 7 business days depending on the speed selected, and rush service is available.
What size are standard business cards? The standard North American business card is 3.5 x 2 inches. Set your file up at that size plus 0.125 inch bleed on each edge.
How should I set up my file? Supply CMYK artwork at 300 DPI with 0.125 inch bleed and fonts converted to outlines, as PDF, JPEG, TIFF or EPS.
Can you design my card? Yes. Our in-house design services can design your card from scratch or clean up an existing file that does not meet print spec.
